Industrial Relations Management
The course offers context on how employer-employee relationship of an organization can operate in a harmonious and mutually benefiting way. It will discuss how the employees and the employers or management can get inextricably intertwined. This relationship can creates both opportunities in some situations and problems in others that the delegates will learn to manage for beneficial results.
The delegates will also discuss opportunities for industrial relations harmony which would bring profit maximization for the shareholders and management as well as widening employment opportunities and career advancement for the employees. To create industrial harmony come the rules, procedures and processes established locally and internationally to regulate the relationship among the principal actors and adjudicate their conflicting claims. • Understand what constitutes industrial action, whether it is lawful, what liabilities may arise for the employee/trade union and what, if any, remedies are open to the employer Identify wrong and right attitudes in the workplace.
• Appreciate the nature of collective bargaining, effective grievance handling and the importance of procedures in resolving grievance and disputes.
• Negotiate successfully ensuring a win/win outcome for all parties where possible.
